All You Need to Know About Cyborg’s Deal from UFC to Bellator
Finally the long cold war between Cris Cyborg and the UFC Chairman Dana White has come to an end, with the latter releasing Cris Cyborg with a direction to join an organization where she could fight easy fights. However, according to the latest UFC News, Cris Cyborg has signed up with Bellator and she has said that her current contract is way better than that she used to have under Dana White.
Cris Cyborg had been almost undefeated in her mixed Martial Arts career, remaining in the top 10 of the UFC Rankings until she lost her Women’s Featherweight Title to the Bantamweight Champion, Amanda Nunes. However, she was a force to be reckoned with while in UFC, and UFC even had plans to make her fight Ronda Rousey — something that never materialised because Ronda moved out of the UFC in 2016 whereas Cris never made it to 135 Pounds category.
Now that she has moved to Bellator, there are various reports that she has got a better deal there and will have the opportunity to be a part of boxing as well. Aslo, Cris Cyborg will also not be sporting the wrestling gear from Reebok, which UFC had made mandatory as Bellator has given her the liberty to get her sponsorship deals on her own.
Another major factor that Cris is very happy about joining Bellator is that she won’t have to work for Dana White anymore, as she had called him a liar on camera. Also, it was very likely that the UFC would not be offering her a renewal contract as she had made a nearly unfeasible demand — an apology from Dana White, for which there was no chance.
Looking at how much both Belator and Cris are excited to work together shows that if all goes well, Cris could be the boss of MMA once again, but then a lot depends on the organisation and Bellator is not as good as UFC.
